Ingredients and spices that I think you need to prepare to cook beef stew:

  1. 3 kilos of beef stew (or 1 1/2 boneless beef tenderloins)
  2. Divide into 3 teaspoons salt
  3. 2 tablespoons pepper powder
  4. 1/2 cup multi-purpose flour
  5. 4 tablespoons leaky olive oil (a little more if needed)
  6. 3 cloves garlic finely chopped
  7. 3 dried tomatoes, finely chopped
  8. 1 large onion, cut in half and sliced ​​(I used Spanish onion)
  9. 1 1/2 pound yellow potatoes, cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces
  10. 1 pound carrot, cut into 2 inches
  11. 3/4 cup red wine
  12. 1 1/2 cups beef broth
  13. 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  14. 1 box of tomato paste (6 ounces)
  15. 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  16. 1 large bay leaf or two small

DIY beef stew instructions

  1. Put the meat in a large bowl and add 2 teaspoons of salt and pepper. Add flour and mix to coat. Transfer the meat to another bowl and set aside the excess flour to remove the excess flour.
  2. Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, fry 1/3 of the beef and fry for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown on all sides. Transfer to a 6-liter slow oven. Continue to cook the beef in batches (three batches in total), add the oil if necessary and add to the slow cooker when ready.
  3. Add 1 tablespoon of oil to the pan and reduce the heat to medium. Add onions, dried tomatoes and chopped garlic to the pan. Cover and cook for about 8 minutes, until soft. Add the onion mixture along with the potatoes and carrots to the slow cooker. Add wine to the pan, raise the heat to medium and bring the wine to a boil, removing any pieces of chocolate from the pan. Pour into a slow cooker.
  4. Beat the tomato paste with the preserved flour. Add broth, Worcestershire, thyme and remaining salt. Add the bay leaf and place the mixture on a slow cooker. Mix all the ingredients well (at this point I have to divide the casserole between the slow cooker and the original flour bowl to mix well). Put everything back on low heat, cover and cook on high heat for 4 hours or 7 1/2 hours on low heat. Have a nice vacation!!
